Getting Started (For Gamers)

This guide walks you through setting up GameGlue on your PC so your favorite companion apps can access your game telemetry.

What is GameGlue?

GameGlue is a free desktop app that streams real-time data from your games to companion apps, overlays, and hardware controllers. Think of it as a bridge between your game and the tools built by the community.

Example uses:

  • Remote flight instruments on a tablet
  • Stream deck integrations
  • Hardware cockpit controls
  • Twitch overlay data
  • Training analysis tools

Requirements

  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • A supported game (currently Microsoft Flight Simulator)
  • Internet connection

1. Download and Install

  1. Go to gameglue.gg/download
  2. The installer will download automatically
  3. Run the .exe file and follow the installation prompts

TIP

GameGlue installs to your user folder and doesn't require admin rights.

2. Sign In

  1. Launch GameGlue from your Start menu or desktop
  2. Click Sign In to open the authentication page
  3. Create a free account or sign in with an existing one
  4. The app will confirm you're connected

3. Launch Your Game

  1. Start a supported game (like Microsoft Flight Simulator)
  2. GameGlue automatically detects the running game
  3. The status indicator turns green when connected

INFO

For MSFS, the simulator must be fully loaded (past the main menu) before GameGlue can connect.

4. Connect Companion Apps

When a companion app wants to access your data:

  1. The app will ask you to log in with your GameGlue account
  2. You'll see a permission screen showing what data the app wants
  3. Click Authorize to grant access
  4. The app can now receive your game telemetry in real-time

You stay in control: you can revoke access to any app at any time from the Developer Hub.

Troubleshooting

GameGlue doesn't detect my game

  • Make sure the game is fully loaded (past menus and loading screens)
  • Restart both the game and GameGlue
  • Check that GameGlue is running in the system tray

Companion app can't connect

  • Verify you're signed into GameGlue
  • Check that the game is detected (green status indicator)
  • Make sure you authorized the app when prompted

High latency or lag

  • GameGlue uses minimal resources, but closing other background apps may help
  • Check your internet connection
  • The companion app may have its own performance settings

Privacy & Security

  • Your data stays yours: Apps only receive data you explicitly authorize
  • Encrypted connections: All data is transmitted over secure WebSocket connections
  • No game modifications: GameGlue reads data through official game APIs
  • Revoke anytime: Remove app access from your account settings
